About

Hi. My name is Anthony Karl Harris. I am an artist and web designer living and working in Atlanta area. I was born and raised in the gulf coast region of Florida. Blah blah blah. So with the formal intro out of the way - here's the deal. The day I got a Starwars: Return of The Jedi coloring book back in the early 80s - I was hooked on being creative. I remember looking up into the clear blue sky as a kid and seeing shapes and lines. Lines everywhere. 50+ Hardbound sketchbooks, drawers of art supplies, and many paintings later here I am. In addition to traditional art, I'm also a long time Photoshopper, digital art geek, and web designer. I see Blogging, Photoshop, Wacom tablets, HTML, CSS, and JQuery as my other set of tools to be creative with. My influences range from Paul Cezanne to comic book art.

Artist Statement

In my mind there is a never ending line. It twists, turns, curves, and transforms constantly. I use the lines to create shapes that turn into representational and non-representational objects/images. The lines are the skin and the acrylic underneath is the guts. Constant change in the lines and the way they distort the forms/shapes/objects, is meant to leave some degree of vagueness so the viewer can come away with their own interpretation. I strive to create feedback loop between the viewer and the painting - from each according to their interpretation, to each according to what they sees. This loop is created through the use of acrylic paint and oil paint markers on tile board.
